Nikia Hunt
Instructional Designer, Teacher, Author
Nikia Hunt is a native Nebraskan who once wandered too far from home and ended up in Colorado. Her muse fell in love with the mountainscape and the nature within it and she has been writing and teaching with a view ever since.
Using the ADDIE methodology backed with years of experience teaching a broad range of learners, Nikia's instructional designs are always creative, interesting, engaging, and developed with the end-goals in mind.
Heavily influenced by everything gothic and twisted, Nikia’s creative written work is generally centered in finding literary beauty in everyday life, especially in the more macabre and sometimes traumatizing parts.
Nikia has always had an active imagination as well as an affinity for literature.
These traits evolved into a passion for both writing and teaching.
Nikia has been writing for as long as she can remember and has been teaching English Language Arts, technology, and business at the high school level since 2015. Additionally, Nikia has experience presenting and teaching to adult learners and peers in best practices, gamification concepts, and more.
Most recently a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a Master's degree in English with an emphasis in creative writing, Nikia has recently focused more strongly on developing her instructional designs further as well as continuing her creative writing.
Additionally, Nikia has been involved in the Pikes Peak Writers in the role of Sponsorship Coordinator since January of 2020 and has been published in several trade publications and educational journals. Most recently, Nikia has been featured in the Pikes Peak Writers Anthology 2021 (Fresh Starts) as well as the online car enthusiast site, Hotcars.com, to which she is a regular contributing author.
